Aspect Blinds Jersey

We understand that choosing blinds, curtains, plantation shutters or awnings is a big decision. It is important to take your time and understand all the features and benefits before making a commitment. Therefore we thought it might help if we provided a brief summary of each type of product available from Aspect.

If you would like to discuss the different types of blinds, curtains, plantation shutters and awnings available please contact our Showroom open 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday, (8:30 - 17:00).

Blinds

1. Vertical Blinds use strips of fabric louvres, normally 89mm wide which hang from a metal head rail. The head rail has two control mechanisms; a metal chain to angle the fabric, and a draw string to draw the louvres left or right, therefore controlling how much fabric covers the window.

Vertical blinds have been very popular for a number of years due their ease of use and the broad range of different fabric patterns and textures.

2. Roller Blinds consist of one piece of fabric, rolled onto a metal cylinder and controlled using a simple chain. The fabric moves vertically up or down covering the window fully.

Roller blinds are very effective at reducing the amount of light entering a room and can be used with a 'black out' backing which is very popular in bedrooms.

3. Pleated Blinds are made from concertinaed fabric which can be maneuvered up or down in order to cover windows, doors or conservatory glass. The fabric is set with a tension spring and can either hang loose, or be held in position by guide strings ideal when positioned on doors or on tilting windows.

Pleated Blinds are the blind of choice for conservatory roofs and can be fitted with a reflective backing which dramatically reduces heat and sun glare during Summer months.

4. Roman Blinds are made from curtain-like fabric which is vertically gathered into folds using a draw string mechanism. The use of roman blind fabric in this way is extremely effective and enhances any window, particularly in the downstairs living areas of the home.

5. Venetian Blinds can be made from either aluminium of wooden louvre-slats placed horizontally across the window. The blinds are controlled using a drawstring to open or close the louvre-slats. The same drawstring is also used to move the blind vertically up or down and lock it into position.

Venetian blinds are extremely versatile and are often located in both domestic and offices across Jersey.

6. Wood Weave (Pinoleum) Blinds are similar to roman blinds in the way that they are constructed and operated. However instead of fabric, wood weave blinds use fine strips of wood which are woven together providing a natural finish to conservatories and windows around the home.

7. Velux Blinds are window blinds purpose built by Velux to fit their popular roof window systems. Aspect Blinds are able to identify the correct blind for you and ensure that they are fitted with the minimum of disruption to your home or office.

Plantation Shutters

Plantation shutters are premium wooden window furniture designed to fit into or around a window recess. The shutters typically have 64mm louvre-slats which can be tilted open or closed. The louvres themselves are fitted inside wooden door panels which can be opened and concertinaed back to reveal the window itself.

Plantation shutters have proven to be extremely popular in homes across Jersey due to their timeless beauty which enhance any room.

Aspect Blinds only use the best quality hardwood taken from Elm or American Yellow Poplar trees. This ensures that the product is hard-wearing and that the wood grain is smooth, consistent and free from knots.

The shutters themselves are purpose built to your own specific window dimensions. This ensures the best possible fit and allows you to specify exactly how you would like the blinds to be constructed.

Awnings

Awnings are designed for outdoor use and comprise a large roll of fabric material tensioned over a powder coated extruded aluminium frame. The awning is opened using a manual or electric motor and sensors can be fitted to automatically close the awning when extreme wind speed may cause damage.

Popular in commercial settings or as a finishing touch for garden patios Aspect Blinds' awnings deliver both much needed shade, and an aesthetically pleasing design focal point.

Curtains, Soft Furnishings & Wall Coverings

The very latest additions to the Aspect portfolio contain beautiful fabrics for curtains, upholstery and soft furnishings. We are also now able to compliment this range with some of the finest wall coverings from leading designer brands.

Curtains provide a superb opportunity to create a beautiful focal point in any room and are often complementary to other window decor such as roman blinds and plantation shutters. Before deciding on the most appropriate style and fabric for your interior design, it is often first worth considering the functional requirements needed, alongside the aesthetic look and feel of your intended window decor. The choice of manufacture, fabric and lining all play an important part in ensuring that your curtains meet your needs and expectations. At Aspect we are always happy to make recommendations and help guide you through the great choice and options available.

All Aspect curtains are hand-made to west-end standards ensuring that you receive both the highest possible quality and a perfect addition to your home.
